For details of non-written art-research, see art.
Three ongoing concerns characterise most of my writing-based research. Starting with the most current, these are:
• the role and form of writing in an artist's practice with particular emphasis on writing as aesthetic practice - this is the focus of my work as Research Fellow in Writing + Art at Chelsea College of Art & Design, London.
• social art practices - in particular, discussion around 'post-autonomous' art, the theory and practice of collaboration, and Open Source culture. Work here was substantially developed in my role as Research Fellow in Critical Practice at Chelsea.
• relations between the structures for 'the oeuvre' and subjectivity as both engage the play of singularity and diversity - the subject of my PhD.
Very broadly, these concerns can be thematised by the notion of the gap, which may be a form of 'critique' - a pervasive concern across my practice. And necessarily, research on research, as well.
